KOREAN HAND THERAPY

KHA is an acupuncture method invented by Dr. Tae Woo Yoo in the 1970s. It's used by doctors, acupuncturists, physiotherapists, chiropractors, etc., in private clinics and in hospitals in at least 30 countries around the world. I've been teaching KHA since 2001, introducing it into Sweden, Norway and Ireland. 

Micro-stimulation - rapid effect

Treatment is done with massage, heating, pellets on adhesives, micro-needles, magnets and electric micro-currents. The effect can be rapid, varying with the problem and treatment given.

Easy access - ideal for self-care

It is easy to learn to treat both chronic and acute problems, and to use this method for rehabilitation. You will have a "doctor in your hand" for the rest of your life.

Meridians in micro-format 

The system builds on and is compatible with body acupuncture and Chinese Traditional Medicine. You can find all major meridians and almost all acupuncture points in the microsystem on the hand.

Advantages 

• It's not necessary for the clients to remove their clothes

• A person with a fear of needles is immediately at ease

• A child is easily treated with no fear or pain accompanying their treatment

• Points such as Remai 1 and 8 are very easy to treat

• Patients can quickly learn to treat themselves, between treatments by a trained clinician

• It's a very mobile modality of health care. A small kit of needles or pellets can easily and quickly fit into a purse or waist pouch

• There's no danger of an organ injury, since the small needles are only inserted 1-2mm into the hand

Education 

I lead seminars for professionals as well as beginners. My one year course is a deep exploration of KHA practice and Chinese Traditional Medicine insights, including body constitutions and Yin Yang pulse. I also give 2 to 3 day seminars in both basic KHA knowledge and practice, and for in-depth work by the TCM-acupuncturist including an introduction to the components of the year-long course. Treatment material in Sweden

VINDARNAS HUS

Susanne and I offer our off-grid farm as a place for relaxation or learning or having fun, maybe all at the same time. We host workshops, concerts, retreats and b&b in the summer.

Electricity is only produced from our solar cells and small wind mill. Water is from a private well. We have a large sauna, a country kitchen and 12+ beds. 

The farm is in the middle of fields in magical Österlen, a few kilometres from a nature reserve and Sweden's most beautiful beaches.

 

 

 

 

 

   

 

ARTIST

My art is a homage to the beauty of life. I often practice a form of active meditation with pen and paper as a way of being in the presence of the moment.

My focus is more about what I see and experience and not about "producing art". I draw with ink mostly, sometimes with watercolour and pencil, and I've tested many brands to use lightfast ink and colour.

Sculpturing has been on hold since 1983, but it might eventually return. I also create art from photography, from what I see, and I've written a book on drawing.

THERAPEUT

At Daoteket, Malmö, 2019

I offer consultations in my clinic Daoteket, in Malmo. I diagnose and give treatments with acupressure, acupuncture and moxa. If the problem is deeper or more chronic you may come to some insights yourself about the roots of your health problem. I give advice in how you can treat yourself and balance your system.

SEMINARS

For almost 40 years I’ve led a multitude of seminars, from short lectures to one year classes in TCM, Traditional Chinese Medicine and KHA.

Current seminars I offer (From 2018 - there may be more in the future).

• Korean Hand Acupuncture - KHA - a complete micro system standing on TCM. I offer courses in different levels and for non-acupuncturists many techniques without needles.  

• Yin Yang Pulse - advanced pulse diagnostics and treatment for professional meridian-therapeuts and students of KHA.  

• Zen Drawing - a modern active form of zen meditation for inner harmony, stress release and appreciation for the present moment. It also may results in beautiful drawings.

Holger Wendt, Sweden - Artist and TCM Acupuncturist

Born 1957 in Sweden, lives in South Sweden (2018), married to Susanne, father of 5 children and grandfather. Loves to travel, meet friends and sing.

A short list of my life in action so far -  some photos below

-----  Until 26 years - from wheelchair to art

1963-73 skills in wheelchair, (broke my legs a lot), Lund, Sweden 

1975 worked in hospital, nurseries and hitch hiked through West Africa 

1976-79 - culture worker in what later became Kulturmejeriet i Lund, one concert every week - studied art, part time studies, Lund 

1979-82 - moved north and studied art, mainly in Gothenburg 

1983 - completed 4 years of education in art, last 2 years in Gothenburg School of Art, sculpture dep.  

1983 - designed and led a workshop based on the book "The Aquarian Conspiracy" 

-----  Ten intensive years, father, global commitment

1982-1992 - worked with The Hunger Project as editor, translator, educator, project leader and global financial member. Visited many cities in Europe and USA, and also Japan and Senegal. Introduced several workshops and programs for Education and Leadership in Sweden, "Leadership Intensive" and "The Mens Seminar" are two examples. Worked as illustrator and started development of the off-grid place "Vindarnas Hus". In this period I had several teachers, among them Frederick Franck. Susanne and I had 4 children.

-----  Back to south Sweden - from art to medicine 

1993-95 - art teacher in senior high schools in Lund and Helsingborg 

1995-98 - studied Traditional Chinese Medicine, TCM, at the Neijing Academy in Sweden, practice in Shanghai  

1998 (and onward) started to practice acupuncture in clinics in South Sweden 

1999 - fifth child. Made a film of the birth, later shown to becoming parents 

2001 - studied Korean Hand Acupuncture with Dr. Dieter Schmidt in Flensburg

2001 - developed and led my own first workshops in TCM

2002 - taught Korean Hand Acupuncture, KHA in hospitals, and since then for groups of health practitioners

2003 - completed 2 years study of West Medicine, Albas, Sweden

-----  Another 14 years - medicin, zen and singing 

2004 - studied medicine in Korea and lectured at the Swedish Acupuncture Association 

2005-08 - led one-year education programs in Sweden and Norway based on KHA and TCM, arranged first workshops in Vindarnas Hus, and every summer since,  led seminars in Face Diagnostics and Ear Acupuncture, participated in several seminars for teachers in Stockholm and TCM congresses in Germany and England. Led a workshop in KHA at the Rothenburg TCM Kongress 

2010 - participated in a 3 week retreat with qigong and lectures on Classical Chinese Medicine, including the work of 5EEH-Therapy in China, arranged by Dr. Heiner Fruehauf 

2012 - published a book on zen and drawing 

2012-13 - represented Sweden in ETCMA, European TCM Association 

2013 - joined the hip hop choir Klubbkören, Malmö 

2014-15 - member of the governing board of ETCMA 

2015 - lectured at the Irish Acupuncture Association, Dublin 

2016-18 - prioritised family matters, practiced acupuncture, led workshops and continued development of Vindarnas Hus. 

2018 - a 3 month adventure with Susanne to South Africa, Mauritius,  

2018 - clinic at Infinite Yoga and at Yin Tang in Malmö
